Our Company

Our History

In August 1994 the tenants on the Friday Hill Estate formed a committee to set up a Tenant Management Organisation (TMO) because they wanted to take over management responsibility for their homes (under the Right to Manage).

 

After due process and a successful ballot Friday Hill Tenant Management Organisation was created.  On 2nd November 1998 Friday Hill TMO took over providing Housing Management Functions on behalf of the London Borough of Waltham Forest.

In XXXX we expanded our management area and took on a number of properties in Highams Park.  We now manage aproximately 1000 residential properties and 100 garages in Chingford and Highams Park

Our Board

Our Board is made up of tenants, leaseholders and co-opted members.  Tenant and Leasehold members stand for an initial 3 years and co-opted members are elected annually.  Elections are held as part of our Annual General Meeting.

Our Board meets xxxx times a year to make decisions on company business.  There are also several sub committees that have a brief to look at a specific area in more detail.  There are sub-committees for HR, Finance, Tenant Engagement XXXXXX

Our Responsibilities

  • Day to day repairs and Emergency call outs in tenants homes and communal areas

  • Rent collection

  • Caretaking for the blocks we manage

  • Grounds maintenance and grass cutting on the Housing owned land across the Estate (not individual gardens)

  • Inspecting our blocks and estates for cleanliness and repairs

  • Assistance and support in cases of neighbour nuisance, anti-social behaviour, hate crime and domestic violence

  • Responding to requests, enquiries and complaints from tenants,  MPs and Councillors made in person, by letter or e.mail and by phone.  We aim to answer the phone between 9am and 5pm within 5 rings and respond to all written correspondence within 10 working days.  If your call goes unanswered it will be because all available staff are on the phone to other callers.  Please leave your contact details after the recorded message and we will call you back

Our Staff

Our staff have a wealth of experience in their respective fields and have a heart for providing excellent customer care in social housing.  They often go the extra mile to support residents make their lives better.
