London Borough of Waltham Forest has published some information and advice about the current hot weather.

There are several "Cool Spaces" and free water fountains around the borough, please take advantage of them if you need them. People with medical conditions, the young and older people can be more affected by the heat, please look after yourself and
look out for your neighbours.

Also be more aware of fire risks particularly from cigarettes and BBQs with dry grassy areas

Community Livingroom
Our Community Livingroom, previously known as 'Warm Space' is now open again for the winter period. Come to our office on Wednesdays between 11:30am and 1:00pm to meet your neighbours and enjoy a free warm drink and biscuits.

Walking Groups
FH TMO is the meeting and starting point for 2 weekly walking groups which take place on Monday’s and Thursday’s. Come along and join them at 11am.
The Monday group walks for 1 hour and then has a short social time with refreshments in our office.

The Thursday group walks for about 2 hours.
Just turn up, no need to book, no charge.

Craft Group
Our craft group meets every week on a Thursday morning.

A free event and no need to book, just turn up at 11am.
Free tea and coffee provided and a variety of crafts are available

Food Hub
Run by our Community Association from the container in our Car Park, the food hub helps to prevent food being wasted at the same time as helping people make ends meet.
If you are interested in collecting some food you can come from 1:00pm to 2:30pm on a Tuesday afternoon. You will need to register but you will not be required to give any financial information. There is also a box at the entrance to our office which gets food put in at various times in the week that you can help yourself to. Please only take what you need and will use.
Donations are also accepted speak to our volunteer team for more information.

Trip to the Seaside
FH TMO arrange a daytrip to the coast each year. This year a group went to Clacton and they had a good day out. There is a small charge for this outing to help pay for the coach. If you are interested in attending future days out please check out the Spring/Summer newletters for details and ring us to book a ticket once the details are shared

Friday Hill in Bloom
We have been running a Friday Hill in bloom competition every year since 2000. We had a successful Friday Hill in Bloom again this year but we would love to encourage more people to take part. Judging normally takes place in June/July
The competition has three categories.
1. Best Garden.
2. Best Communal Garden
3. Best Pots and Tubs.
